Recently, there’s been this obsession over liquid lipsticks, particularly Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipsticks. Of course, it’s the one product that isn’t available in Australia yet and so the closest I could get to liquid lipsticks was the range from Kat Von D.

For the one and a half years I’ve had braces, I’ve avoided wearing normal lipsticks because there’s nothing worse than seeing your braces covered in bright red. But can I just say, liquid lipsticks have changed my life! They are super long-lasting, and super pigmented. The felt tip applicator makes it very easy to apply and also very smooth. I’m not one who usually likes a matte finish, but for this one time, I’ll make an exception.

I saw how popular the colour Lolita was all over Instagram, so I knew that was the one colour I had to get. It’s the perfect shade for my golden skin tone and basically goes with any makeup look. Lolita is definitely the colour I’d wear everyday. It was so good I had to go back to Sephora the next day and grab another one! Outlaw (bold red) and Vampira (deep burgundy) would go perfectly with a winged liner and dramatic lashes. As for Berlin (warm rose), I’d wear this more during Spring/Summer time when I’m wearing softer shades on my eyes such as a golden brown smokey eye.

Another thing that I love about this product is that it barely transfers after it has completely set. As you can see above, there’s hardly any product on my hand. In addition to that, because it sets so quickly and is a matte finish, there is basically no bleeding outside the lips and so you don’t need a lip liner!
One of the downsides to this product is that after a few hours of having it on, if I don’t re-apply, my lips look really dry due to the matte finish. It’s also super important that you make sure your lips are very moisturised before applying this product as it will really emphasise dry and chapped lips.
Apart from that, if you haven’t tried these liquid lipsticks, I highly recommend them as they’re so easy to apply, last for hours, and there’s a huge range of colours to choose from. They’re also really affordable, selling for $30 AUD at Sephora for 6.6ml.
If you’ve tried this product, let me know what you think of it and if you haven’t, have you tried anything similar?
