FAVOURITE: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer + Treatment

Made with Repix (http://repix.it)

This product has been on the market for quite some time now and I only just got around to trying it this year. It has since then become my absolute favourite concealer and I live by it. Not only does it have the perfect creamy consistency, but it really has helped reduce the visibility of my fine lines.

This product claims to erase dark circles, puffiness and fine lines. The description states that there is an active formula with Haloxyl which reduces the puffiness and shadows around the eyes. Haloxyl is a man-made ingredient that reduces the appearance of broken capillaries, which contributes to the appearance of darkness under the eyes. This is where the product title ‘treatment’ comes into play. Not only is this concealer aiming to conceal, it also has the elements of treating the under eyes and preventing further fine lines. I for one, definitely feel that this product lives up to what it claims. I’ve used high-end concealers such as Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, and that causes more creasing than this concealer does.

Another reason why I love this product is the price. It’s extremely affordable and you do get a good amount of product. For $18.95 AUD, you get 5.9ml. I use this product daily and one product lasts me up to three months. There’s also a good variety of shades: Fair/Clair, Light/Pale, Medium and Brightening. I have a golden beige skin tone, and so Fair/Clair or Light/Pale works perfectly as an under eye brightener for me, particularly Light/Pale because it has a yellow undertone. At first I used the Brightening shade as an under eye concealer, but due to its pink undertone, it made my under eye look very ashy. If you’re looking to conceal your under eyes, you should use Light/Pale or Fair/Clair as it is more neutral and will cancel out any darkness. The Brightening shade is better for highlighting the t-zone as well as just above the cheekbones.

When applying the concealer, I always ensure that I apply eye cream first. I then put the concealer directly on my under eyes and blend it out using a damp beauty blender. I believe this is the best method of application because it melts the concealer into the skin to prevent any creasing. Following this, I use Ben Nye’s Banana or Cameo Luxury powder to set the concealer (I will do a review on these powders soon).

This concealer really has become an essential for me. It honestly has changed the way my makeup looks and has brightened up my face. I used to feel that my undereyes were rather dull and I looked tired all the time, but this has been a game changer for me. I highly recommend this to those who are looking for a concealer that is not only light weight, but also very pigmented. It’s super affordable so there’s no reason why you shouldn’t give it a go!

Comment below if you’ve tried this product or if there’s another drugstore concealer that is just as good!

  1. naturally like your website but you need to test the spelling on several of your posts.

A number of them are rife with spelling problems and I find it
very troublesome to inform the reality nevertheless I will certainly come back again.

    1. I don’t know which part of the world you’re from, but I’m from Australia and we spell certain terms differently to others e.g. colour (Australia) and color (America); centre (Australia) and center (America); favourite (Australia) and favorite (America).
